    FAQ

    Profit calculator FAQs

    How is forex profit calculated?

Profit = (exit − entry) × direction × lot size × contract size, converted into your account currency, minus commission and swap. Direction is +1 for a buy and −1 for a sell.

How much is a $10 gold move worth on 1 lot?

    With a standard 100-ounce contract, 1 lot gains or loses $1,000 on a $10 move, 0.1 lots $100 and 0.01 lots $10, before costs.

    Does it include the spread?

Use the real prices you would get: buys open at the ask and close at the bid. Add commission and swap in the costs field for a net figure.

Can I use it to check risk-to-reward?

Yes. Run it once with your take-profit and once with your stop loss. A profit of at least 1.5–2× the loss is a healthy reward-to-risk ratio.
